Partners with Good News Ministries
In 2010, as part of our continued efforts to enable local health institutions and providers to increase their capacity, we established a partnership with Good News Ministries, Uganda.
This partnership has empowered, Dr. Mark Kitendre to I increase the capacity of his clinic in the capital city of Kampala with thousands of dollars in medicines, and medical supplies, including an ultrasound machine. One of the few private machines available to the poor in all of Kampala.

Resources from Health e Children have also allowed an outreach program into rural Mosaka, where over one thousand desperately needy patients were provided care for the first time in their lives. Many from chronic conditions for years.

Plans for 2011 include the establishment of solar generated electricity at the clinic in Mosaka Town, laptop computers, and an Electronic Medical Record so that each person's health can be tracked to ensure the best outcomes.

Donors at Health e Children have indicated that they want us to increase local capacity. This includes the hiring of nurses at our outreach facility in Mosaka Town.

Like all Health e Children programs, there is an important component of education. Here, Dr. Mark, teaching dental hygiene while distributing toothbrushes and toothpaste donated by Americares.org.
